On October 19, Beijing time, the Second African "SHENMO CUP" Abacus Mental Math Olympiad and Awards Ceremony was successfully held in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. The event was attended by distinguished guests including Zhang Xiaohong, Director of the Political Section of the Chinese Embassy in Rwanda; Irere Claudette, State Minister of Education of Rwanda; Nelson Mbarushimana, Director-General of the Rwanda Education Board; Major General Eugene Nkubito of the Rwanda Defence Force; Police Commissioner Yahya Kamunug of the Rwanda National Police; Habib Gallus KAMBANGA, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Rwanda; and consular representatives from the Embassy of Libya in Rwanda. Also present were Professor Lilly, Shenmo International Advisor; President Li Mianjun of Shenmo Education Group; Ding Lei, General Manager of the Shenmo International Business Center; Principal Peter of Shenmo Rwanda School; along with representatives of Shenmo school principals from China and abroad.

Under the theme “Empowering Young Minds, Realizing Africa’s Dream”, the event brought together nearly 400 young Shenmo learners from over 30 African countries to showcase their abacus mental math talents on the international stage.

Nelson Mbarushimana, Director-General of the Rwanda Education Board, delivered a speech, praising the event as a vivid embodiment of Rwanda’s educational vision and emphasized the vital role of abacus mental math in fostering creativity and cognitive development. Speeches were also given by President Li Mianjun, Principal Peter of Shenmo Rwanda School, and Executive Principal Brigitte.

This Competition marks the second African abacus mental math event conducted in a regional linkage model, following the inaugural African "SHENMO CUP" Abacus Mental Math Olympiad held in Nigeria in 2023. It is also the first large-scale international Shenmo event in Africa since the introduction of its global strategy, the "Dandelion Project", representing another important milestone in Shenmo's global educational development. Currently, Shenmo has established franchise schools in 37 African countries.

Coinciding with the Olympiad, a series of parallel events — including the 6th Anniversary Celebration of Shenmo Rwanda School, the China-Africa Cultural Exchange Gala Dinner, the China-Africa Shenmo Principals International Summit, and the African Principals Business Exchange Forum — were held to promote shared experience, resource connectivity, and cross-continental collaboration among Shenmo schools worldwide. Together, these activities mark a new chapter in advancing Shenmo International 3.0 toward a more integrated and innovative future.
