[Report by the Hong Kong Mental Math Academy, Hong Kong SAR, China] On December 7 and 14 2024, the Hong Kong Mental Math Academy, Hong Kong SAR, China and the Hong Kong Productivity Council - HKPC Academy jointly organized an abacus and mental arithmetic mentor training course, parent-child mental calculation training course and the 4th 2024 The Hong Kong Academic Mathematics Examination and the WAAMA Appraisal on Mental Arithmetic by Abacus respectively.

In the three activities, the participants’ age ranged from a 3-year-old kid to a 60-year-old former retired lawyer. In addition to promoting the benefits of learning abacus and mental arithmetic, the Hong Kong Mental Math Academy also utilize the WAAMA Appraisal on Mental Arithmetic by Abacus to promote Chinese abacus culture and strengthen cooperation with various educational institutions in Hong Kong. Most importantly, in order to enhance the global status of abacus and mental arithmetic constantly.
