On July 7, 2020, the Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Experimental School in Rudong County of Nantong City carried out an abacus and mental arithmetic popularization test and demonstration. Organized by Director Mao Jinbin, primary school mathematics researcher and trainer, from Rudong County Teacher Development Center, nearly 1,000 students from three abacus and mental arithmetic experimental schools (Fengli Primary School in Fengli Town, Guba Primary School in Chahe Town and Xuling Primary School in Bencha Town)  participated in the test and demonstration.

On July 8, 2020, all experimental schools of abacus and mental arithmetic in Changzhou City carried out a unified test on abacus mental arithmetic for primary school students. Due to the influence of COVID-19, students could only learn abacus and mental arithmetic at home at the beginning of this semester. Changzhou City specially organized backbone teachers to carefully make micro-lectures on abacus and mental arithmetic, so that students could follow the micro-lectures to practice basic skills, learn new methods, and consolidate new skills. After the resumption of classes, each school carried out targeted and compensatory teaching based on academic conditions. This popularization test on abacus and mental arithmetic is intended to fill the gaps in the abacus and mental arithmetic teaching of this semester, and is of great significance to the abacus and mental arithmetic education and teaching experiment.
